Cannot Copy Large Files (>2MB) to A Mapped Drive in Windows 7 Enterprise
Hi, I have a problem copying large files (2MB and above) to a mapped drive in Windows 7. The server mapped to is a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 server. Surprisingly, files lesser than 2MB is able to copy over to the mapped drive. Is there any settings or policies which restrict the file size copying? Would there be any settings on the Windows Server 2003 need to be tuned as well? Previously when I am on a Windows XP machine, I have no problem copying any files to the same server using the same credentials. I have already done and tried setting the following on the Windows 7 machine and still did not resolve the problem: 1) Set Task Offloading to disabled 2) netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled 3) Disabled the SEP on the machine I have also tried looking through the threads and could not find any similar or same problems. Would appreciate someone to advise. Thanks!

Thanks! If all other PCs on the same physical subnet have no problems it could be a hardware/driver problem. Try to update your NIC driver to a newer version and see it that helps. If not take another NIC and put it into your PC and see if that cures the problem. If this PC is on a special subnet and connected to the server via a router etc, try to bring the PC into the local physical subnet of the server and see, if that helps. Some routers need special settings, if running against Win7, even if autotuning is disabled. I have often seen faulty hardware producing very strange effects. Therefore before diagnosing all possible configuration errors it is often easier to test the hardware for faults. Wolfgang

Hi, May I know that is this Windows 7 a domain client? To temporarily disable the antivirus such as SEP and firewall. You may have a try to map network drive with different credential. Windows 7 - Map Network Drive http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/49517-map-network-drive.html Another suggestion is have a test with RDP(Remote Desktop Protocol) or building FTP server in your local network. Here is one related article can be referred to. You cannot copy a large file and paste the file to a multi-core computer that is running Windows 7 when the computer contains a network adapter that does not support the RSS feature http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2249715 Hope that helps.Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support
